  1. hey there, usually when people are talking about deep sea fishin they are going after big game so i guess i am saying that there is no difference. but that really all depends on the person. when i say that i am going after big game (fish) i am targeting 20 plus pound catfish. for me that is big game and there are others that would say that a 20 pound cat was small. it is really all up to the person and what they are thinking of when they talk about going to after big game. but i guess to sum it all up i would say that when thinking of saltwater, deepsea, big game, i would say that there is no difference. oh yea, why is this something that makes you mad. does fishing make you mad, i sure hope not. good luck good fishin be safe and remember to share the experience
  2. In general, deep-sea fishing is fishing in the ocean from a boat a ways from shore. You can target small, medium, or large fish. I've been on offshore trips which came in with lots of tiny (under 10 pound) yellowfin tuna -- this is definitely deep sea fishing, but definitely not big game fishing. Big game fishing refers to targeting big fish (100 pounds and up in my experience). This generally requires specialized heavy tackle and methods, big baits/lures, etc. The fish targeted include marlin, big tuna, big sharks, and possibly others.
  3. Both are done from a boat. Big game fishing is usally done from a moving boat called trolling. Deep sea fishingb is done by dropping a line and bait from a still boat and pretty much fishing on the bottom.
  4. The size of the fish. A deep sea fishing trip may come back with nothing over 10 pounds. As for big game fishing requiring a boat, what about big tarpon from a dock or bridge? Tarpon count, don't they? This is a big game fish, isn't it? http://www.flyfishusa.com/newsletter/040206/chris-170-tarpon.jpg (no, I only wish that was me...)
